I know it's been a while since I blogged anything, about six months to be precise. The ideas were there, just not the time to express them.
The post-it note Christmas advent calendar, for example. I could have written about how the mindless act of doodling on a post-it note on the morning of December 1st, then committing it to social media, lead to a desperate search for another twenty-three Christmas Lone Hoof ideas.
Of course they were only post-it notes, and it was only a bit of fun, but if I was doing it (and it seemed I was) then I felt they should go beyond the obvious cliches of the season. In fact, many mornings were spent racking my brains on, for example, who Lone Hoof's colleagues might be for a work's Christmas dinner (a cowboy and blacksmith), or dredging up Christmas memories from when I was young and working out how to incorporate a pipe-smoking horse (Morecambe & Wise, Feed The World).
I also need to tell you about my thoughts behind the portrait series. I'll save that for another time. For now I'll just point out the new gallery on the website and sign off with the intention of trying harder to keep this blog up to date.
Lone Hoof, out.
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
